Painting Capabilities

Patlon’s Hi-Tech paint booth is a cross draft design capable of handling many types and colours of paint. Currently Patlon is registered to use Type 2 HC free polyurethane CARC 383 green and 686 tan, Type 4 CARC 383 green as well as military Ordinance primer Type 2 epoxy. In addition, Patlon is also capable of handling many other enamel, acrylic enamel, polyurethane, and base/clear systems.

The booth is equipped with all necessary safety features including a dry chemical shower activated either by a panic-button or by heat generated inside the booth. In case of emergencies the booth has an integrated alarm system which shuts the booth down as well as cuts all air supplied to the booth. The booth’s vacuum gauge monitors filter dirt and the airflow switch ensures that there is sufficient air movement to operate the spray guns.

The booth is 14' x 24' long with a ceiling height of 9' accommodating large vehicles such as a complete CLT . The ceiling is equipped with a trolley and track system for piece part painting up to 100 parts at a time.

The building has been equipped with a 2 million BTU air replacement unit which draws air in from outside, heats it, and dumps it into the building to ensure that the building does not remain in a vacuum due to the exhaust fans. The air is heated by thermostat so the booth can operate without concern during winter and summer months.

Patlon also has access to both sandblasting facilities as well as acid cleaning facilities. These processes allow Patlon to finish equipment to “as new” condition. Patlon can strip, clean and repaint anything from small parts in steel, brass, aluminium or any other alloy to large vehicles and trailers. Patlon also has the skills to provide mechanical preparations before painting such as disassembly for piece painting.

The combination of these skills places Patlon in a unique and advantageous position. Most other paint facilities do not refinish an item from beginning to end. Usually one company will do the disassembly, another stripping, another painting and yet another reassembly. Patlon provides a one-stop, turnkey, cost effective painting solution.
