● Commissioning: Whether our customers would like to perform their own commissioning or have Patlon execute it for them, Patlon’s factory trained technicians can:
- Verify correct installation
- Carry out setup and configuration
- Test all outputs and safety spots
More over, Patlon provides detailed commissioning documentation that is crucially important for warranty purposes.
● Hangar & Fixed Installation: Patlon has successfully completed many hangar and fixed-site installations. As a non-union shop, Patlon has executed many of theses design and installation projects in collaboration with both union and non-union subcontractors, as was most appropriate to each individual project.
Over the years, Patlon’s experienced technicians have been key players in the success of these projects and have performed a variety of tasks including the following:
- Installation of the equipment
- Running and connecting all interconnect, output, and control cables
- Complete testing and configuring of the equipment
● Bridge Installations (Airport Passenger Boarding Bridge – PBB): Patlon also has extensive experience in installing GPUs on PBBs with both airport authorities and PBB manufacturers. In this area of activity:
- We transport and install GPUs, and all cables related to input/output and communications
- All appropriate Patlon technicians have restricted air-site passes issued by Transport Canada
- Implementations include installation of communication systems for remote monitoring
● Ground Power System Design: As an integral part of our process, after meeting with customers, Patlon evaluates the size and type option(s), layout of the equipment, and the delivery systems. This includes the following:
- Calculation of cable length
- Determining the cable type
- Determining pit location(s)
- Deciding on panel location(s)
- Identifying the required control type and location (and whether it is a motor or generator)
- Identifying input/output power requirements,
- Determining costs
- Providing a detailed proposal
Patlon has provided numerous ground power system designs in Canada in the past many years and has successfully procured, implemented and commissioned them for its customers.
● Retrofit & Modification: In addition to installing new equipment, Patlon is also asked by its customers to retrofit or modify existing systems. Example of such projects include:
- Increasing the kVA rating of an existing system
- Upgrading line-drop of systems
- Replacement of an older motor generator with solid-state equipment
- Installation of factory upgrades as well as implementation of factory warranties
